In an increasingly isolated society, many people find themselves going through life without a true sense of awareness. Even when interacting with the outside world, preconceived notions and projections of one's own headspace often render the mind absent. My work is an attempt to mediate the space between reality as it is and reality as we perceive it. I display the interplay between observable actions versus the subliminal motives that create them and color our attitudes toward them. Typography and collaged images muddle into soft painted backgrounds to emulate the feeling of churning thoughts balanced with my own personal journey both to understand these thoughts and to separate myself from them enough to be present in my everyday life.
